Sr. Mechanical/Electrical Engineer

A green tech start-up that has come to market with its revolutionary drinking water technology seeks a dynamic addition to the team. The Sr. Mechanical Engineer will take our proven technology and oversee the development of additional complimentary products.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Size and select food grade compliant components for drinking water machines
  • Size pumps, fans, heat exchangers, and compressors
  • Select appropriate materials (Food grade and aesthetics)
  • Use technical knowledge to predict and prevent issues as well as analyze, develop and implement countermeasures for ongoing issues. Implement lessons learned into current and future design
  • Evaluate product energy efficiency and design enhancements
  • Develop test plans to evaluate new components
  • Set-up test units in new design configurations in the laboratory
  • Troubleshoot and resolve field failures
  • Audit third party manufacturing facilities
  • Complete testing and documentation for government certifications (UL, CE, NSF, etc)
  • Diagnose failed units using a multimeter
  • Determine root cause component failures using third party labs
  • Redesign existing prototype units and design units now on the drawing board

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong understanding of Psychrometrics
  • Working knowledge of Code of Federal Regulations (CFRs)
  • Field Service Experience
  • Experience with new product development and introduction
  • Experience creating electrical schematics and select components
  • Solid understanding of common manufacturing processes

Required education: Bachelor’s; Masters degree a plus.
