Omar Rojas
President - Omar Rojas

Omar graduated from the University of Notre Dame with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. He is currently a Sales Engineer for Russell Sigler, Inc. Omar's experience in the HVAC field is focused on assisting consulting engineers and contractors in the design of systems that would best suit their clients' needs. His experience includes involvement in projects for commercial retail spaces, offices, central chiller plants, healthcare, K-12 and higher education, laboratories, and government facilities. Omar has served as the Membership Promotion Chair, Student Activities Chair, Treasurer, and President-Elect.

Ricson Chude
President-Elect - Ricson Chude

Ricson Chude is a professional mechanical engineer currently working at Southern California Edison where he manages the technical review of energy efficiency projects such as HVAC RCx, Refrigeration System Retrofits, and Pump System Upgrades. He has served on the ASHRAE Southern California Chapter board for the past 5 years, holding the following positions: Technology Awards Chair, Chapter Technology Transfer Chair (CTTC), Research Promotion Chair, Student Activities Chair, and currently serving as Chapter Secretary. Ricson Chude holds a Master of Science in Engineering Management from California State Polytechnic University of Pomona, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from the California State University of Los Angeles. He is a licensed Mechanical Engineer in the State of California.

Brian James
Secretary - Brian James

Brian is a Program Manager and Engineer in the Emerging Products group at Southern California Edison in support of the energy efficiency and demand respond program portfolio. He is responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of technical projects assessing energy efficiency and demand response emerging technologies. He is currently an ECLIPSE intern with ASME "Early Career Leadership Intern Program to Serve Engineering" assigned to the Standards & Certification sector.
Eric Tobiassen
Treasurer - Eric Tobiassen

Eric Tobiassen is a Sales Engineer at Mitsubishi Electric. He graduated from Syracuse University with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering and a minor in Engineering Management. For the past seven years, Eric has been working in the engineering sales community with four of those years being specifically in the HVAC industry. Eric works closely with consulting engineering firms by offering training and assistance with designing VRF systems.

Rafi Karim
Student Activities, Yea & Historian - Rafi Karim

Rafi Karim is a Mechanical Design Engineer at P2S Engineering with a passion for green building design and sustainability. Rafi holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering with an Energy Engineering minor from California Polytechnic University, Pomona. He has two years of mechanical engineering experience. His experience in the field has included projects for municipal facilities, universities, healthcare and retail center. Rafi has been involved with SoCal ASHRAE chapter for two years and held YEA Chair position previously.

Nelson Echeverry
Public Relations & Correspondence - Nelson Echeverry

Nelson is a Mechanical Project Engineer working at Donald F. Dickerson associates. For the past few years, he has worked as a design consultant ranging from low –rise to specializing in high rise residential construction. He holds a Mechanical Engineering Degree from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.

Joanne Choi
Chapter Technology Transfer - Joanne Choi

Joanne is an energy engineer at Cyclone Energy Group, where she specializes in energy modeling and retro-commissioning. She is passionate about high-performance buildings and sustainability, and her work focuses on assisting consulting engineers, architects, and building teams with finding customized energy-efficient solutions. Her experience includes high-rise office, multi-family, hospitality, warehouse, and retail. Joanne holds a B.A. in Environmental Studies from Yale University and a Masters of Energy Engineering from University of Illinois at Chicago.

Jay Madden
Recent Past President - Jay Madden

Jay Madden is a Senior Engineer at Southern California Edison. Jay's past experience includes the Steering Committee Member at USGBC San Gabriel Valley Chapter, a Volunteer at the Guadalupe Homeless Project, Vice President at HDR, Principal at EYP Mission Critical Facilities, Mechanical Engineer at Nack Engineering and a Project Engineer at SMW. Joy holds an MBA from Cal Poly Pomona and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo.
